Villa Finale – National Trust for Historic Preservation – San Antonio

I am not a musuem goer. Too much look, don’t touch. Not connected enough. But my dear friend Michael Anderson is now the Director of Development and Marketing at Villa Finale.

Then Michael took me to the visitor center at Villa Finale! My visit was great because of Rob Abodeely, who leads the Visitor Center and is Museum Shop Manager. Rob made me feel like I was IN Villa Finale and Walter was looking on! The house is currently under restoration.  Villa Finale is the first National Trust for Historic Preservation site in Texas!

When Villa Finale opens in October – there will be NO velvet ropes. We will be able to walk through this magnificent collector’s home as if we were visiting Walter! The historic King William neighborhood is worth walking through, but Walter’s Villa Finale and grounds are amazing. As is his story. Make plans to visit.

Check out their website and my cinchcasts of Rob talking about Villa Finale, Walter and the visitor center. Forget the Alamo! Go see Villa Finale! Hear the famous Violano Virtuoso played live! It will be placed back in the house after restoration and played as visitors walk through a home full of Walter’s collections and music. Check out the the Museum shop, amazing  thanks to Rob, mixing great historical items, jewelry, Walter-like collectibles, San Antonio and Texas artifacts and fun gifts. (I got all mine in my suitcase!)
