Fundraising v Fundcatching

I had never heard the term fundcatching until a couple of years ago, had you?
My definition:
- The act of making charitable donations without being asked.
- Charitable donations given in response to the news, social media, a disaster, event or publicity.
- Charitable contributions given on a regularly basis without stopping or stewardship.
So my question is, once we “catch” these gifts (because we have all received them) as professional fundraisers who are donor-centric in our work – what do we do?
To be continued…your thoughts welcome.
