Gratitude – It’s not about the Money

I want to take a BRIEF moment to talk about gratitude – beyond a “thank you.”
Yes this is about fundraising stewardship – but gratitude should not necessarily be linked to money.
Donors love and support your mission with passion. Build on this great feeling they have from GIVING. This is what we want to be grateful for. Our thank you notes, donor communications and end of year best wishes should be about their passion for our work and sharing how our work worked to make a difference.
This is way different than their “receipt” for their gift. This is the letter/email/news from a client, program director – read not your CEO or you – sharing a story, photos or video.
Happy Holidays! Go forth and share your gratitude.
