Your Best (#Fundraising) Self

It’s almost the end of the year. As fundraisers a lot rests on our shoulders now and throughout the year. We should know and accept that. But in order to take on fundraising responsibility, we need to be our best selves.
I talk to a lot of colleagues in fundraising or those who want to be. I always look for passion first.
Passion for:
- making a difference
- nonprofit work
- life
- fundraising
Probably in that order.
Our best selves allows our passion to shine. And sometimes it means leaving an organization that does not allow us to be our best selves.
Our passion for our work and life has to provide a great deal of satisfaction. Because the other thing I see are fundraisers looking for more money and the next job before they’ve figured out the one they have.
Sure we all need money to live. I get it – but that passion I’m talking about provides satisfaction beyond the paycheck – providing we’re with an organization and team sharing your commitment and passion to:
- making a difference
- nonprofit work
- life
- fundraising
