While waiting for perfect
You’ve permitted magical to walk on by. Not to mention good enough, amazing and wonderful.
Waiting for the thing that cannot be improved (and cannot be criticized) keeps us from beginning.
Merely begin.
——-
With regard to fundraising – there is never the perfect moment to cultivate, solicit or steward a donor. The best laid plans – are plans. It’s the moments of organic opportunities – an article in the paper, success of your program, meeting accidentally in the market – in which long lasting people to people donor connections are made. With you, with your CEO, with a program officer and a donor. We’re all just people – none of us perfect. Go with the moment and your intuition.
With regard to life – Same applies – gather ye rosebuds while ye may. Some may look perfect (but have thorns) other smell amazing without perfection. Life happens – enjoy the moments, take advantage of the opportunities – LIVE! DO! BE! Truly, honestly, always you have nothing to lose and only fear of failure will hold you back. And from failure come learning – not perfection.
Ok off my soapbox now. Have a great and splendid day!
