Happy holidays!!! It is with great excitement I have news to share!
I have accepted the position of Senior Director for Development at the World Food Program USA. As you may know, WFP USA is a nonprofit organization that builds support in the United States to end global hunger. We engage individuals and organizations, shape public policy and generate resources for the United Nations World Food Programme and other hunger relief operations.
I am truly honored to work for an organization making a global difference. In my new role I am responsible for leading a team who will be cultivating, soliciting and stewarding individual, corporate and foundation donors as well as have my own portfolio of donors.
Yes! This job requires a move to Washington, DC and I am delighted to make the nation’s capital my new home. I have been working in DC for many years and always considered it my second city. As winter approaches Chicago, I am looking forward to the move – despite DC humidity and last year’s blizzards. I have found a great apartment in NE and am looking forward to walking and biking to work from NoMa.
You will still find me on my social media channels providing nonprofit information, inspiration and resources and my Talisman website will remain active – with strong support for WFP USA advocacy and fundraising. I have speaking engagements booked and if you are going to the Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP) conference in Vancouver or an AFP DC event – see you there!
I have included my new contact information below. Please update my information in your address book and stay in touch. If you find yourself in DC for business or pleasure, please let me know.
I hope you have a wonderful holiday season, filled with lots of love, happiness and joy. Here’s to a new year of opportunity for all.
Best regards,
Barbara Talisman, CFRE
