Veritus Group on #Fundraising

A positive and enthusiastic outlook. The job doesn’t get you down. You see the brighter side of things. You solve problems rather than complain about them. You have a “can do” attitude.

Pushiness a la Seth Godin

Pushiness is in the eye of the beholder. Generosity requires that we be aware of how the other person is feeling about the forward motion we’re trying to make.

Post Election Options

A hate crime is a traditional offense like murder, arson, or vandalism with an added element of bias. The FBI has defined a hate crime as a “criminal offense against a person or property motivated in whole or in part by an offender’s bias against a race, religion, disability, sexual orientation, ethnicity, gender, or gender identity.” FBI

The Day After #imwithher

It’s 5am and I have never felt so far away as I did yesterday and this morning. There is a new world order today.

Sadness is not an acceptable reaction when friends of color, women and gay friends on Facebook post “America now I know you hate me.” To those friends, I love you always. I have your back.

Action is required. As Seth Godin wrote Resilience is required:

“When we’re sure it’s not going to work, when we can’t figure out where to turn, when we don’t know what to do next…Sometimes, our ability to do the best we can in small ways is enough to start moving forward. And when it doesn’t work, we try something else. Enough small things by enough people coalesce into the next big thing.”

Then there is Pantsuit Nation on Facebook which is moving to the Daughters of Athena. The plan is to act  – run for office, find candidates to support and elect locally and nationally.

And I know you didn’t miss President Obama’s words of encouragement. The epitome of “when they go low we go high.”

Today I will show resolve, resilience and move forward. Pull myself up and get involved.  I am going to do whatever I can here through Democrats Abroad worldwide and Victoria cause that’s what I can do from here. I won’t live in the bubble of expat life. I am an American good, bad and ugly.

Change of Attitude

Look we all need a shot in the arm, slap in the face, knock in the head. I think eight months into a move across the globe – I deserved and needed all of the above at various times.
