A great opportunity came along and I couldn’t say no! I am honored to be joining the American Red Cross National Headquarters as Senior Officer, Chapter Board Fundraising. This is a new position for ARC. I will be working on developing a framework, materials, goals, training opportunities and assisting ARC chapters nationwide in building fundraising Boards. It is a wonderful opportunity that will keep me very engaged and busy. As we know, Boards are the key to successful fund development and I am delighted to be able to create a program that fits within the American Red Cross goals and needs of the chapter volunteers, staff and communities they serve.
I have so enjoyed my work with many clients on a variety of nonprofit management and fundraising challenges. After more than 20 years of nonprofit consulting, I have decided to retire Talisman Associates, Inc. In the last few weeks, I have finished and transitioned my current client work. And a few speaking engagements will place an exclamation point on a great consulting career.
The Talisman website will close on December 1st and this blog Talisman Thinking Out Loud will be the place for me to share my thoughts and resources. You can always reach me via
or Facebook.
I look forward to staying in touch and remaining a part of the nonprofit sector, seeing you at an AFP event, conference or online soon. As 2012 comes to a close, I wish you a wonderful 2013!
Best wishes,
Barbara Talisman, CFRE
